What's Happening at The Mag

November 2 – November 8, 2025

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV)

ALL SAINTS’ SUNDAY

Sunday’s service will be for the observance of All Saints’ Day. All Saints’ Day is on Saturday,

so Fr. Bill decided to have the All Saints’ Day service Sunday. It has been our custom that some people dress up as a saint. Please feel free to do so if you are so inclined.

FALL BACK!

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS THIS WEEKEND.

Remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.

THE MAG BBQ SALE WILL BE THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, FROM 8:00 AM – 12:00 NOON.

SPECIAL NEED FOR WARM CLOTHING

As we enter the cooler time of the year, we will continue to need warm clothing, including sweaters, jackets, coats, scarves, socks and gloves. There is currently a need for larger sizes in all categories. Please know that all contributions are greatly appreciated and needed.

The Wednesday evening Bible study meets every week at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall (joined by Zoom). We are in chapter 23 of the Book of Numbers. If you would like to join the class by Zoom, email Fr. Bill at [email protected] and he will send you an invitation.

RIGHT NOW MEDIA

The hospitality food pantry group has stuffed every food bag with a Right Now Media flyer. Our hope is that it not only be a great study tool for you as the parishioners but also a great evangelical tool to give people access to sound, Biblical, orthodox teaching if they have access to a computer. Additionally, there is wonderful entertainment media for children. If you have not used Right Now Media yet, please pick up a flier (on the table in the Narthex) use the QR code and download the program. We hope and pray this will help us to grow.

FREE BOOKS!

We have a wonderful selection of free books in the Parish Hall beside the front door. You may select something that interests you and keep it or return it for someone else to read.

FOOD PANTRY

We thank those of you who are bringing in items for the food pantry. We continue to need canned goods such as meats, chicken, Vienna Sausages, beef, Spam, stew, etc. Ramen noodles are also a good choice. Food baskets are located in the narthex and the Parish Hall.

NEEDED: GENTLY USED MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

Thanks to those who have brought in walking canes and a walker. We continue to collect gently used medical equipment. Crutches, canes, wheelchairs and walkers are some suggestions. These will be included in our food pantry for anyone who has need of them. We ask only that they be clean and in usable condition. Thank you for your generosity.

FOOD PANTRY HOURS

The Food Pantry hours are as follows:

Tuesday:10:00 am – 12:00 noon

Thursday: 10:00 am – 12:00 noon

Bagged food will be given out – one bag per person.

SUNDAY COFFEE FELLOWSHIP

We have Sunday coffee fellowship after the 10:00 a.m. worship service each week. If you are interested in serving on the Hospitality committee, please see Sheree Welsh or Amy Owens.  If you would like to bring food one Sunday for the coffee time after the service, see the signup sheet in the Parish Hall.

ELECTRONIC GIVING AT ST. MARY MAGDALENE

Donations and electronic tithing are now available on our web page at marymagdaleneanglican.org. Just look for the donate button on the header of the home page. It has been set up to work on both the home page of computer screens and on the home page of hand held devices.

If you are making your regular tithe, click in the select fund box and choose general fund. All regular tithes go to the general fund.

If you choose to donate to any other funds, such as building, endowment, Rector’s discretionary fund or designated giving, please go into the system separately for each donation. This eliminates duplicate reports being sent to the Treasurer.

Once you have selected the fund and the amount you are giving, you will have the opportunity at the end of the session to cover the administrative cost and, if you can, we would appreciate it if you would do that. It is a small charge. Once you have completed your giving and clicked the button to finish, you will receive within a minute or so a receipt thanking you for your donation that you can use as a record, although a full recap of your yearly giving is recorded and provided by Subsplash. It is our hope and intention that this will make it easier on some of our parishioners to give.

VISITORS AND GUESTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. COMMUNION IS CELEBRATED EVERY SUNDAY.

ALMS FOR THE POOR: $50.

JOKE OF THE WEEK FROM JOSEPH MATHESON

An avid golfer's teenage son asked for permission to have some friends over on Halloween to watch scary movies and pass out candy. The father agreed and gave him twenty dollars for some videos and

snacks. On Halloween night, all the kid's friends came over and seemed to be enjoying themselves. About ten o'clock, however, his parents were scared half out of their wits by violent screaming and

shouts coming from the TV room. They dashed upstairs to find out what was wrong.

"What's the matter?" shouted the father, out of breath.

"The movies can't be that scary.”

"Movies?" said the son. "They were all lame."

"Dad, we're watching a video of your latest golf game!"
