What's Happening at The Mag
February 1, 2026 – February 7, 2026
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV)
IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER ON SUNDAY
There is a possibility of snow Sunday morning; there is also a possibility of no snow Sunday morning. When you wake up Sunday morning, if driving conditions are hazardous and you feel that you should stay home, you probably should. I do not want anyone to drive when the road conditions are dangerous. If you are close to the church and feel like you can make it, you certainly may. The only way I will not be here is if the road conditions are so bad I can’t make it, and I cannot predict that. HERE are the readings for this Sunday and HERE is a copy of Morning Prayer. If needed, do Morning Prayer at home. If you desire to take Communion, come in during the week, and you can take it from the reserve Sacrament. Stay safe—hope to see you Sunday. God bless. bill+
WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY
The Wednesday evening Bible study meets every week at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall (joined by Zoom). We are starting chapter ten of the Book of Deuteronomy. If you would like to join the study by Zoom, email Fr. Bill at [email protected] and he will send you an invitation.
RIGHT NOW MEDIA
The hospitality food pantry group has stuffed every food bag with a Right Now Media flyer. Our hope is that it not only be a great study tool for you as the parishioners but also a great evangelical tool to give people access to sound, Biblical, orthodox teaching if they have access to a computer. Additionally, there is wonderful entertainment media for children. If you have not used Right Now Media yet, please pick up a flier (on the table in the Narthex) use the QR code and download the program. We hope and pray this will help us to grow.
FREE BOOKS!
We have a wonderful selection of free books in the Parish Hall beside the front door. You may select something that interests you and keep it or return it for someone else to read.
FOOD PANTRY
We thank those of you who are bringing in items for the food pantry. We continue to need canned goods such as meats, chicken, Vienna Sausages, beef, Spam, stew, etc. Ramen noodles are also a good choice. Food baskets are located in the narthex and the Parish Hall.
FOOD PANTRY HOURS
The Food Pantry hours are as follows:
Tuesday:10:00 am – 12:00 noon
Thursday: 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
Bagged food will be given out – one bag per person.
SUNDAY COFFEE FELLOWSHIP
We have Sunday coffee fellowship after the 10:00 a.m. worship service each week. If you are interested in serving on the Hospitality committee, please see Sheree Welsh or Amy Owens. If you would like to bring food one Sunday for the coffee time after the service, see the signup sheet in the Parish Hall.
ELECTRONIC GIVING AT ST. MARY MAGDALENE
Donations and electronic tithing are now available on our web page at marymagdaleneanglican.org. Just look for the donate button on the header of the home page. It has been set up to work on both the home page of computer screens and on the home page of hand held devices.
If you are making your regular tithe, click in the select fund box and choose general fund. All regular tithes go to the general fund.
If you choose to donate to any other funds, such as building, endowment, Rector’s discretionary fund or designated giving, please go into the system separately for each donation. This eliminates duplicate reports being sent to the Treasurer.
Once you have selected the fund and the amount you are giving, you will have the opportunity at the end of the session to cover the administrative cost and, if you can, we would appreciate it if you would do that. It is a small charge. Once you have completed your giving and clicked the button to finish, you will receive within a minute or so a receipt thanking you for your donation that you can use as a record, although a full recap of your yearly giving is recorded and provided by Subsplash. It is our hope and intention that this will make it easier on some of our parishioners to give.
VISITORS AND GUESTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. COMMUNION IS CELEBRATED EVERY SUNDAY.

JOKE OF THE WEEK FROM JOSEPH MATHESON
Two men, an American and an Indian were sitting in a bar and discussing about their family problems..
The Indian man said to the American, 'We have problem in India we can't marry the one whom we love, You know my parents are forcing me to get married to this so called homely girl from a village whom I haven't even met once. We call this arranged marriage. I don't want to marry a woman whom I don't love... I told them that openly and now have a lot of family problems.
The American said, talking about love marriages... In America We can marry the one whom we love. I'll tell you my story. I married a widow whom I deeply loved and dated for 3 years. After a couple of years, my father fell in love with my step-daughter and married her, so my father became my son-in-law and I became my father's father-in-law. Legally now my daughter is my mother and my wife my grandmother. More problems occurred when I had a son. My son is my father's brother and so he is my uncle.
Situations turned worse when my father had a son. Now my father's son, my brother is my grandson. Ultimately, I have become my own grandfather and I am my own grandson. And you say you have family problems.
